Added 10/4: TitanTV's "Facade" description (thanks Madsci!): "Clark tries out for football again and learns that Jason is the new assistant coach---though he doesn't know Jason's also Lana's boyfriend. Also: a student gets a bizarre makeover with a dangerous side effect that gives her the power to alter the way others see themselves; Lois enrolls at Smallville High for a semester after she finds out she's a few credits shy of graduating; and Martha takes a managing job at the Talon."

Whitney Returns?
Someone who previously has sent us spoilers regarding Smallville e-mailed us today to tell us that Eric Johnson is indeed going to be back as Whitney Fordman in Episode #4-3, which is titled "Facade." This is what the person says: "Eric Johnson is back as Whitney in the flashback scene at the prep rally. He leads the football players up to the podium, right before Abby shows up."

However, with Eric recently on a honeymoon and soon to film a TV pilot for Global TV, we're not sure if this is true or if the tipster could have merely been confused. UPDATE: They weren't confused - this information is TRUE!

CITAZIONE
Whitney Fordman Returns From The Dead!
Okay, not really.

But Eric Johnson, who played Whitney during Season 1 as well as in the episode "Visage" in Season 2, will be returning to the role of Lana's boyfriend from days gone by.

The scene, from an episode called "Facade" scheduled to air in October, is a flashback scene to a time around Season 1, and in the scene, a young girl named Abby is teased. Not only is Whitney back for the scene, but look for Clark and Lana to return to their "old looks" and wardrobes from the show's first season.

Season 4 Coverage on WGN
WGN in Chicago today had a feature from the set of the third episode of the current season of Smallville.

Several cast members were interviewed and talked to. Here are some details. Be warned of spoilers within!

Just wanted to let you know about a Smallville story I saw this morning on WGN Chicago’s morning show. WGN’s film critic, Dean Richards, went to Vancouver and talked to some of the cast while filming was under way. I saw them speak with Tom Welling and the new Lois Lane, Erica Durance.

They showed filming of a scene where Clark is playing quarterback for his high school team, and another where it was a crowd shot watching the game. From left to right, it was Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk), Chloe Sullivan (Allison Mack), and Lois Lane (Durance). In a brief interview, Welling was quick to credit his development on the show to his co-stars for making a relatively inexperienced actor like him better. Durance said her character was clearly not a reporter yet, so her Lois Lane is definitely going to differ from previous versions from film and TV. WGN’s Richards also humorously questioned what the heck Chloe was doing in the scene with Lana and Lois since we last saw her in a house that blew up.

Thanks to O.J. Flow of the Reverend's Show for the report!

Episode #4-3 Guest Revealed!
Playing the role of "Dan" in the third episode of Season Four, which is titled "Devoted," is an actor by the name of Lee Rumohr. Lee's previous credits include episodes of Queer as Folk and Mutant X (an episode where he played a character named Clark; at least, that's what TV Tome says!)

CITAZIONE
Lee Rumohr (who has previously appeared on Queer As Folk and Mutant X) plays the role of "Dan."
- There is a steamy shower scene between Dan and his on screen girlfriend.
- There's some kind of face morph involving kryptonite veins in this story. But we thought that was the deal with #4-4 "Facade!" Could "Facade" and "Devoted" be one and the same? No one is telling us...

CITAZIONE
We're not sure if these are spoilers for a new episode, or if this is "Facade" renamed. (If anyone can tell us, please e-mail!)
- The teaser begins with some football action involving Clark at practice. We see Head Coach Quigley for the first time during this scene.
- A player named Dan is late for practice, after being with his girlfriend Mandy.
- Assisant (?) Coach Jason puts Dan on the bench util he gets his priorities straight.
- Lois and Lana go jogging together, after Lana asks her too. Lois makes fun of the cheerleaders, calling them "Barbie dolls." She then says cheerleaders are "the whole cruel popularity contest masquerading as school spirit... the sad, pathetic need to be on the arm of a quarterback..." Lana comments "Okay, wow, good thing I was never a cheerleader." Lois realizes her faux pas. "You were, weren't you? Oh, Lana. We were just starting to be friends."
- Dan accuses Jason of looking at his girlfriend, and then punches him. Clark is told that he is starting Friday as Dan is now out.
- Dan comes into the school with a shotgun, going after Jason. Clark stops him by blurring the room in superspeed. He then uses heat vision to explode the gun.
- Clark tells Chloe that he has to quit the Torch, to focus on football. The bright side to this scene? Clark tells *Chloe!* This means Chloe is alive and well!
- The football team gets new uniforms, which seem to be emblazoned with a LuthorCorp logo. Jason introduces the team to the man responsible for giving them the uniforms - Lex Luthor.
- Lex gives a speech. "In my life, I've learned that you can never give up on something that means a lot to you. Your team, your friendships - things that you've invested time and energy in. You have to finish what you started. Sometimes that means getting a fresh start." A message to Clark? Hopefully...
- Lois makes a comment, "I need a quote for the Torch." Isn't she in college? Of course, one of her interviewees makes a reference to her "repeating the twelfth grade," so, maybe this is a new development we just did not know before.
- Lois tells the girl that she's "one tragic backbend away from a Darwin Award," and calls the girl "Sunshine." She also makes a comment to needing a smoke.
- Chloe wants to speak to Clark in the Torch. Possibly in a scene preceding the one where he quits.

CITAZIONE
Teaser. SV High. The football team practice. New assistant coach Jason watches the players. "Let's go, Kent! Nice throw. Keep it up", he says. Clark smiles, content with his work. Dan (the starting quarterback) is escorting his girlfriend Mandy to the cheerleading practice. They kiss and talk for a while making Dan late for practice. Upset, Jason tells him practice started ten minutes ago, so he can sit tight. Dan apologizes, but Jason says he can be sorry on the bench. "Let me know when you get your priorities straight." He finishes.

Lana and Lois are jogging on the track surrounding the field. Lois is glad that Lana advised her to do it and said that she always need outside motivation to exercise. Lana agrees, but her motivation is different. As she looks at Jason who is coaching, she knows “who” her motivation is.

During their chat, Lois sees cheerleaders and completely dismisses them. Not knowing that Lana was a cheerleader in the past, she throws cheap punches at them calling them “Barbie Dolls” At one point she says, “It’s the whole cruel popularity contest masquerading as school spirit… the sad, pathetic need to be on the arm of a quarterback… That and the fact that they wear those stupid little outfits to class on game days. I could puke.”

Jokingly, Lana responds, “Okay, wow, good thing I was never a cheerleader.” Lois realizes what she meant and says, “Oh, my God, you were, weren’t you. Oh, Lana. And we were just starting to be friends.” Both laugh. Lana glances at Jason again and Jason smiles back in an affectionate gaze. They share an “electric, if private, moment.”

Dan misconstrues the gaze and thinks that he’s looking at Mandy (but Jason is really looking at Lana). In a jealous rage, Dan punches Jason and he falls to the ground. Clark rescues Jason before he can lay another punch. Jason says Dan is out and that Clark is starter for Friday’s game.

Jason is in the locker room alone putting on a white t-shirt, when he hears a gun shot. Misguided Dan says “I’m gonna teach you to stay away from my girlfriend.” Jason runs as Dan fires bullets numerous times hitting the lockers. The gun triggers again as Jason finds himself in a corner. Clark super-speeds to the rescue and tackles Jason to shelter him as the bullet hits a mirror and shards of glass spread everywhere. Clark then uses his heat vision to disable the weapon from Dan.

Chloe is back. She's at the Torch with Lois, who is apparently going to be spending a lot of time around SV High. Clark tells her that he might quit the Torch, so he can focus on football. Chloe looks a little hurt by Clark's decision. "Don't worry about it, Clark. She's got me now...And I smell a Pulitzer," Lois says.

The football team is getting new uniforms. Clark is checking the new uniforms when one "halfway-friendly" player approaches and hands Clark a jersey with a "Kent" emblazoned on the back. "You owe me, Clark. I saved it from the toilet" the guy says. Looks like Clark is feeling some rejection from his teammates. Clark's face falls even more when he sees a small LUTHORCORP logo embroidered into the sleeves.

Jason calls the team and introduces them to Lex. When Clark catches Lex's eyes, Lex smiles, surprised to see him. Lex thanks the opportunity to let him be part of the team. "Your coaches told me it's going to be a rebuilding year, and I just wanted to encourage you to keep at it.", he says. Lex looks at Clark. Deeper meaning behind his words. He continues saying that he has learned you can never give up on something that means a lot to you nor in things you've invested time and energy in. "You have to finish what you started. Sometimes that means getting a fresh start." Aww. A Clexy moment. ;-)

It looks like the team is very upset with Clark on what happened to Dan. Nate, the wide receiver says, “You know what, Kent? I think if it wasn’t for you and Teague, Dan would still be out here, so as far as I’m concerned, you don’t make the calls, I do...”

That’s it! That all she wrote. Come back again you hear?
