| CITAZIONE | | A WITCH HUNT IN SMALLVILLE - After Lana (Kristin Kreuk) reads from a spell book written in the 1600s, she, Lois (Erica Durance) and Chloe (Allison Mack) become possessed by witches that had been burned at the stake. The three witches have come back seek revenge and search for the powerful Kryptonian crystals, wreaking havoc on the town in the process. Clark (Tom Welling) attempts to stop the witches but they strip him of his powers and force him to reveal the location of the crystal he hid in the cave. Michael Rosenbaum, Jensen Ackles, Annette O’Toole and John Schneider also star. Jeannot Szwarc directed the episode written by Steven S. DeKnight. |

You might remember this is also the name of the person Lana was tracing in the season premiere - that gave her that weird power. It could be that the two are connected/related. | CITAZIONE | The teaser takes place in the year 1604. A young, dark-haired woman named Margaret Isobel Thoreaux (Isobel) etches the same Kryptonian symbol tattooed on Lana’s back into the dirt. She has a fire burning and stands in a circle of stones, with the 3 Kryptonian symbols matching the 3 “crystals”, placed in the center.
She chants in Latin from a Spell Book embossed with Kryptonian symbols – “The body is not what binds us. It is a vessel to be emptied. It is a vessel to be filled.”
Just then 2 girls - Madelyn and Brianna, who look battered and frightened, pop out of thin air. They tell Isobel that they have to go because the Magistrate, his comrades, and the villagers are coming after them.
Isobel is determined to finish the chant. She says that she “will bend it (time) to my will” and that if they’re unsuccessful, they will rise again. She wants to possess the power of the 3 stones, so that “our kind will never be persecuted again.”
When the chant is complete, Lana’s Kryptonian symbol in the dirt vanishes and is now on Isobel’s lower back as a Tattoo.
The Magistrate charges after them with a dagger. They use their magic to escape but end up captured. Isobel, Brianna, and Madelyn are tied to wooden stakes. The Magistrate condemns them to burn in the fire for practicing the darkest art of witchcraft. Brianna and Madelyn beg for mercy but Isobel laughs and says “I but sleep a while, and when I wake…I will have vengeance!” Her Kryptonian tattoo grows red.
In a Lana & Jason scene, Jason’s eyes widen in fear as “Lana/Isobel’s eyes crackle with violet energy."
At the Talon, Chloe/Madelyn and Lois/Brianna are eating a plate of cookies and muffins. They moan in ecstasy as they compare the present to their past lives such as the food tasting better and that the men today bathe. They eye a hot guy that’s sitting with his girlfriend. They use their magic to open the guy’s shirt and spill a coffee drink on the girlfriend’s face.
There is a wild party with half-clothed teens and loud music going on at the Kent Farm. Jason leaves the party and drives off in his truck. Mr. Williamson, a Princeton recruiter, shows up and is looking for Clark. He spots Clark who is “stripped to his boxers as he dances with joyous abandon with Lana/Isobel, Lois/Brianna, and Chloe/Madelyn” and yells “Woooooo! Par-teeee! Wooooo…” |

| CITAZIONE | Added 9/21: Magic comes to Smallville for the second week in a row, in a story dating back to a time when three young women were accused of witchcraft in 1604. The three women somehow have a tie to Lana, Chloe, and Lois today, who seem to have taken on their behavior.
- One witch in 1604, Isobel, threatens that she will "sleep a while" before getting her revenge, while she is on the stake. A Kryptonian tattoo on her burns red. Could this mean there is a Kryptonian connection to Earth dating back 400 years?
- Lana is the one girl tied mystically to Isobel somehow, and her eyes crackle with energy, which causes Jason to look at her with his eyes widening in fear.
- Chloe's connection is to a witch named Madelyn; Lois is connected to Brianna. Chloe is chowing on a cookie and moaning in ecstacy.
- Lois and Chloe are checking out the guys in 2004 (apparently they may be possessed by the spirits of these witches?) and comment on the hard bodies and the fact that men in 2004 bathe. Lois/Brianna uses her witch power to make one "studly teen"'s shirt pop open. They then cause mischief that makes the boy's girlfreind storm off.
- A Princeton recruiter comes to the Kent Farm to meet up with Clark. On his way to the house, he is interrupted by a semi-clothed boy and girl. He enters the barn, to find Clark stripped to his boxers, dancing with the scantily clad Lois/Brianna, Lana/Isobel, and Chloe/Madelyn |
