Smallville Casting Exclusive: Odessa Rae Joins as DC Villain

Rae (Leverage) will first appear as Siobhan McDougal, aka the Silver Banshee, in Episode 16, "Escape."

The Banshee is a vengeful spirit of a fallen Gaelic heroine. She's accidentally released from the underworld, and takes out her vengeance at an unassuming country bed and breakfast. Guess who just happens to be staying at the B&B? Lois (Erica Durance) and Clark (Tom Welling).

Rae joins the line of DC heroes and villains being added to Smallville this season, including Icicle (Wesley MacInnes), Dr. Fate (Brent Stait), Hawkman (Michael Shanks), Star Girl (Britt Irvin) and Amanda Waller (Pam Grier).

Exclusive: 'Smallville' is bringing Perry White (a.k.a. Michael McKean) back, too!
On the heels of my scoop that Annette O’Toole is returning as Ma Kent, executive producer Brian Peterson confirms to me exclusively that Smallville is also bringing back Michael McKean as Perry White at season’s end.

“We’re thrilled to have Michael back on the show,” says Peterson, “and to be able to link it with the anticipated return of Martha Kent is just a phenomenal way to gear up to the end of the season.”

Peterson also reveals that the iconic character’s latest trip through Smallville will bring him “closer to his destiny” than ever before, adding, “We finally get to see the legendary introduction between Perry White and the intrepid Lois Lane.”

O’Toole and McKean (who, as you know, are married in real life) will appear in this season’s penultimate episode (No. 21).

The only date TBA until now was the day in which "Warrior" would air. Originally this would have happened on January 29th, just in the middle of "Disciple" and the movie "Absolute Justice".

Now, a CW spokesperson now confirms to the FutonCritic the new schedule:

* "Disciple" on January 29th
* "Absolute Justice" on February 5th
* "Warrior" on February 12th

As far as we know, Callum Blue (Zod) does not appear in either chapter of "Absolute Justice." Cassidy Freeman (Tess) appears in only "Legends" (the second hour).

Originally known as "Persuasion," the title of this one changed to "Hubris," and now it is again... "Persuasion."

- With a title like this it's likely a safe bet to think that Pam Grier's Amanda Waller character will be involved. In the comics, Checkmate is a covert operations group within the DC Universe. With Checkmate involved, could the Suicide Squad be that far behind?
